Card v1

I ordered up some MOO cards in preparation for ALA11 in New Orleans.  The conference isn’t even here yet, and there are a number of things I would have done differently.

I put http://biblio.tk/cv on the card well before (i.e. 2 weeks before) this website existed, and I set an Apache rewrite rule to forward hits to my LinkedIn page.

Now, there’s an actual website here.  With that in mind, I would have just put the top level URL for this site on my card.

I left my phone number off the card, as I prefer any cold calls to come through email.  I totally spaced that I had a Google Voice account for just such things, not to mention it would be very handy to have a number on the card which I could be reached at while in NOLA.  The next version of my card will include a Google Voice number.

Live and learn, I guess.  By the end of August, I’ll have graduated with my MLIS from UW, and I’ll need new cards.  Perhaps I’ll make up new cards a little sooner than that in preparation for PNLA11.

Playing with the WordPress IOS app

Just dabbling with the iPhone app for WordPress while busing in to work will need to find something to photograph later. The app seems pretty cool, except it’s disabled the iPhone’s dictionary and autocomplete, including double-space periods. Sorta annoying, since a little autocorrect is essential on a bouncy bus. -d

Update: Adding a quick pic taken while stretching my legs at lunchtime.

First Post! ;-)

Howdy!  Welcome, and all that jazz…  This site is very much a work in progress at this time.  I just registered the domain in preparation for ALA Annual and my impending graduation.  Specifically, I registered this domain to have a more libraryish email address to put on my business/calling cards, not with the original intent of putting up a web presence.  Though I haven’t advertised this site anywhere, I know library folks are a nosy lot, and I figured I better have a little more here than my web host’s splash page.

Really, no one should be watching this site at this time.  If you are, expect many changes.  -d
